Sodium test
An exercise test is a perfect way to assess the physical condition. It is a good starting point for setting up a training program. And when the test is repeated, the effects of the training program can be checked.
Optimise your Hydration Strategy
During long training sessions and competitions, you not only lose fluid, but also important electrolytes, such as sodium. This loss varies from person to person and can have a major impact on your performance. A sodium (sweat) test gives you insight into your personal sodium loss, so you can optimize your hydration strategy.
Why is a sodium test important?
Prevent cramps and hyponatremia: Sodium imbalance can lead to muscle cramps, dizziness, and even serious health problems.
Individual advice: Standard hydration guidelines don't work for everyone. Your sweat is unique, and so are your needs.
Improve your performance: By perfectly coordinating your fluid and electrolyte intake, you can perform at a high level for longer without loss of energy or complaints.
How does it work?
In an exercise test, breathing gas analysis determines both your aerobic and anaerobic thresholds very accurately and maps out your training zones. Your maximum oxygen uptake (VO2max) is also determined. You take the bike test on your own bike that is placed on an indoor trainer, which gives you the best results. The running test is taken on a running belt.
