Personal Coaching
Besides good training schedules, many athletes need personal attention and feedback on how the training sessions are performed. These aspects are central to my coaching. If you have a question or would like to discuss a topic, I am always there for you. I am also closely involved in the execution of your training and you regularly receive feedback and tips about how your training is going.
The coaching is very varied. Some athletes are already very experienced but have difficulty making progress themselves, these athletes get help to make the next step with smart schedules. Other athletes may have done a triathlon before, but they are still searching how to tackle this, also in this coaching will help you enormously.

About me
I am David van Oosten, born in the Netherlands and a certified endurance coach with many years of (personal) endurance sport experience from regional to international level. Coached by one of the best trainers in the Netherlands.
Endurance sport is my passion, both doing it myself and helping other athletes achieve their goals.
I spent years struggling to find the right balance in my own schedules, I wanted too much and I trained too hard too often, which resulted in frustrations and injuries. Until a coach guided me and showed me how to train properly and smart.
I enjoy sharing the knowledge I gained during my coaching education and the experience I gained during all my years as an athlete.

How does it work?
1. Intake
After a first introduction, I will send you an intake form on which you provide background information about yourself, Β your sporting past and your ambition. Personal things such as work / private life and which days you have time for training are also included. After receiving this information we will discuss this together during a face-to-face meeting (or by phone if a meeting is not possible).
2. Make your personal year plan
After the intake I will make a custom plan focussed on your goals and desires. We also will set a date on which we will start the training. At the start of the schedule I will schedule some tests so that I know what your zones are and the training will not be too heavy or too easy.
3. Weekly schedules
You will receive your schedules on a weekly basis in Trainingpeaks and you can upload your completed training sessions here, this can be done automatically using a cycling computer or smart watch. After each training you give feedback on how your training went. I get a notification of this and so I can follow how your training goes and I can adjust where necessary. I don't plan ahead more than a week so that I can always be on top of what you need at that moment.
4. Flexible schedule
Your schedule is not cast in concrete. If there is something unexpected then you have the freedom to reschedule training sessions during the week if that fits you better.
As your A-race comes closer, the training sessions will become more specific and if necessary we will schedule a coaching conversation to ensure that nothing is left to chance on race day.
5. Unlimited contact through Whatsapp
I think it is important that you can continue quickly if you have questions about your training / schedule. Whatsapp works ideal to answer short questions quickly, I always try to answer your questions immediately.
Individualized Training (Premium package)
Personal profile
Every athlete is different. However, the same zones are often used for every athlete, based on FTP. With individualised training, the training zones will be determined per athlete. Advanced software is used to create a personal profile for every athlete.


Multi seasonal overview
To continuously keep making progress, it is important to progressively increase the training load, not only in the current season but also over several seasons. To keep an eye on this, data from recent years is being monitored.
Smart workout targets
Classical trainingzones are made for the average individual, however every person is different and unique. With the use of WKO software personalized trainingzones and training targets are determined.


Strenghts and limiters
Strengths and weaknesses will be determined and a profile will be made. This profile can be used to train very goal orientated to the specific requirements of the event for which you are training.
Empty your battery
Do you train too hard? Or maybe you could have pushed a little bit more? For each training you can see how deep you have gone and whether more or less rest is needed.


Prediction of your bike split
With the help of Best Bike Split a detailed plan is made of your most important races. The race course will be uploaded and the software calculates how fast you are on that course. You can play with this yourself by, for example, adjusting your power or weight and seeing what your gain / loss will be on this course.

Basic
Personal coaching is more than writing schedules. This package is suitable for athletes who want to be coached and who want frequent contact. We start with an intake meeting to determine your goals and to make a plan towards these goals. You receive 2-weekly training schedules in your TrainingPeaks account.
Premium
Driven to perform and try to get better every day, looking for your personal limits. If you recognise yourself in this, then this package is best for you. This package distincts itself in daily contact and feedback and highly data driven coaching with the help of WKO5. Both as an athlete and coach we can expect the best of each other. You don't have to be a professional athlete for this package, it's your drive which counts!
